
Hon. Abdoulie Njai was recently invited to be a guest speaker and panelist at the IVMHO-Gambia school mental health project’s 2nd edition Senior School debate competition on August 29th, 2024.
The debate competition aims to promote psychoeducation and dispel societal myths and misconceptions about mental health, suicidality, and substance abuse.
Other guest panelists included Mr. Jassey from the Ministry of Health’s Mental Health Program Unite and Mr. Jobateh from the Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

The event’s theme was “Mental Health to Suicidality and Substance Abuse” and it took place in eight senior schools on the West Coast, KM, and Banjul.
Mansa Colley Bojang Senior Secondary School won, while St. Peter’s came in second. The best female and male speakers were also awarded trophies.
