Following many hours without water that caused significant disruption within Banjul Central and other areas in Banjul, Hon. Abdoulie Njai engaged with senior personnel from NAWEC. It was discovered that the water shortage was due to a burst pipe within the water pipeline around the Mile 2 vicinity.
Upon inspection, Hon. Njai met with NAWEC personnel who were actively working on the issue. We are pleased to inform the public that the problem has been remedied, and water supply has been restored. However, we have also received complaints regarding the water quality. It is understood that this is a temporary issue resulting from the burst pipe and subsequent repairs. The quality will stabilize shortly as the system flushes out any residual impurities caused by the pipeline disruption.
